Our Mission
Our mission is to provide affordable trauma-informed acupuncture, uplift the acupuncture profession, and strengthen community among practitioners. We aim to be a trusted node in Maui’s healthcare network, offering referrals when care needs exceed our scope. Through sustainable healthcare and Chinese medicine, we help our community cultivate lasting wellness. We exist to restore dignity and belonging in healthcare for everyone.
What's next?
Upcountry Maui had a community acupuncture clinic called Makawao Community Acupuncture until its closure in 2019. The upcountry community has let us know that this healthcare instituion is sorely missed, and MCA's long-term vision is to secure a brick-and-mortar clinic space to once again have an Upcountry Community Acupuncture Clinic.​
What can acupuncture treat?
Acupuncture can help folks who experience chronic and acute pain, anxiety, depression, migraines, digestive dysfunction, insomnia, menstrual irregularities, cancer related pain, and much more. Research shows that acupuncture helps to modulate the nervous system, reduce inflammation, and support the body’s innate healing response.​​

What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one of the eight branches of Chinese Medicine. Its origins extend back more than three thousand years. Its potency arises from generations of careful observation and refinement. The medicine lives today thanks to the wisdom keepers who nurtured and shared their lineage. We are grateful to be students and stewards of these teachings.
